Records: Merrimack (6-16), Bryant (12-10)
Rapid Recap
Merrimack and Bryant met up earlier this season for a midweek and the Bulldogs walked off the Warriors with some small ball. A bit of revenge was what the Warriors had in store for their neighbors to the south. In the first inning
Flynn Howard started the game and gave up just one run. In the home half of the first Merrimack would put up a four spot headlined by a three run jack from
Dawson Bryce that cleared the center field wall. The Warriors would maintain their lead through the next six innings anchored by the pitching staff. Between
Louis Cespedes,
Jack Collins,
Michael Bradshaw,
Campbell Cassidy,
Colby Barker, and
Dawson Logie they would give up just three hits and two earned runs to keep the Warriors lead at 4-3 through seven innings.
Damon Fuller would then come in the game in the eighth inning and the Bulldogs jumped on him scoring three runs to take a 6-4 lead late in the game. After no one scored in the eighth, Merrimack had one last chance after
Michael Dragon and
Peyton Heisner closed out the ninth.
Christian Scanlon would come up to the plate and crushed a ball to deep right field to make it a one run ball game with just one out. However, the Warriors would be unable to build on it and would ultimately lose the game by just one run.
