Rapid Recap
It was the rubber match in Staten Island as the doubleheader was split the day prior between these two teams. Wagner would score first as they had a runner come across on a fielding error to take a 1-0 lead in the first. Brayden Ryan would be dominant from that point on, pitching four straight innings of scoreless ball taking the Warriors into the sixth inning trailing by just that lone run. Matthew Chatelle would have a sac fly to drive in the first run for Merrimack to tie it up at one. Alex Haba would add another on a RBI single to give MC the lead. In the bottom of the sixth Brayden Ryan would give up his first and only earned run to knot the game at two. In the 7th Wagner would score another run to reclaim the lead before Matthew Chatelle was able to drive in his second RBI of the game to make it a 3-3 game in the 8th. No scoring in the ninth brought us to extra innings where Christian Scanlon brought the power with a homerun down the right field line to give Merrimack the lead. Merrimack would turn to the graduate student lefty, Jack Collins to hold the fort down in the bottom of the 10th. It got dicey as the bases became loaded, but nothing shakes the veteran southpaw. Collins would go on to strike out the next batter to complete the game three and series win for the Warriors.
