Rapid Recap
Game one it would be Merrimack's ace on the hill in Tyghe Healy. Healy would put together 6.1 innings of work giving up just two earned runs while striking out nine batters. The Merrimack offense would not be able to support his stellar outing on the mound as they would score just one run through 7 innings. That run came off of the bat of Alex Haba on a blistering homerun in the second inning. It would be Haba's fourth homer in a week's time. The Warriors would not be able to tack on any runs until the 8th inning when they put up two runs, taking over the lead at 3-2. Coppin State would turn around and hang a five spot in their half of the inning reclaiming the lead at 7-2. Merrimack would score two more runs in the ninth but it was not enough as they were defeated in game one of their three game set with CSU, 7-4.

Merrimack was looking to make up for a loss in game one of the double header. They started it out with two way freshman Andrew Heffernan on the mound. Heffernan would pitch for just under five innings giving up four earned with four strikeouts. After that the bullpen would hold it down for the Warriors, not letting in any runs between James Borsari and Michael Dragon. Still, the Merrimack offense was nowhere to be seen until the ninth inning. Samuel Sherman would single into left that would drive in two runs and then it would be Hayden Bond doing the exact same just a few batters later, tying it at four. It would be tied heading into extras where both teams pitching held the game at four a piece until the 12th inning. The Warriors brought in Damon Fuller to try to extend. Coppin State would end it in the inning with a walk off homerun as Merrimack was not able to finish the late comeback losing another heartbreaker.
