Rapid Recap
Merrimack needed to snag a win in the third game of this series not only to avoid a sweep but to stay within striking distance of playoff spot in the NEC. The Warriors started the game off beautifully as
Brayden Ryan dealt on the mound for the first five innings of action giving up just one run. While that was happening MC would strike for eight runs through five innings of work.
Frankie Ferrentino,
Christian Gemelli,
Christian Scanlon and
Braydon Dolbashian all helped the cause, hitting in a combined five RBI's. The Warriors maintained their lead until the top of the sixth when the Hornets put together a five run inning to make it a 8-6 game.
Dawson Logie would replace Ryan on the mound and in the 7th he would get roughed up for four more Delaware State runs as the Merrimack lead slipped away. Ferrentino was able to double in a run in the 8th but it would not be enough as Merrimack would be swept losing game three 11-9.
