Softball Defeated by Providence

Providence, R.I.— Merrimack Softball re-entered non-conference play falling to the Providence College Friars by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Warriors got off to a quick start, with their first two hitters reaching with singles and stealing a base, Courtney Lanpher would score Thiana Brito on a fielder's choice, and Sam Russalesi would score on a Gabby Kaduson sacrifice fly. The Friars would score three runs in the bottom half of the first to go ahead and they would add two more runs on a home run in the second, and they would hit another home run in the sixth, pushing the lead to five, and that would be enough to get the victory.

Up Next: Merrimack resumes conference play on the road against Central Connecticut starting with a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Games are scheduled for 1 and 3 PM.
