Rapid Recap
Andrew Heffernan was on the bump to start and carved through the first two innings giving up two hits and no runs. It wouldn't be until the third inning when the scoring seal was broken. It would come off of a fielding error that would score two runs. Heffernan would continue to do his thing on the mound through four innings of work. In the fifth the Knights bats paired with Merrimack's defensive struggles would lead into six runs for FDU.
Alex Haba would get one back for the Warriors with a solo shot. In the seventh FDU would respond with a solo homer of their own to make it 7-3. In the bottom half of the seventh Merrimack would get three runs across to tighten it up at 7-6.
Brooks Craigue would come up in a massive spot and double in a run on a full count to tie it up in the 8th. The Knights scored one more in the ninth to force the Merrimack bats to be awake if they wanted any chance of coming away with a win.
Frankie Ferrentino led off for the Warriors and what was a routine pop up to first base would prove to be trouble for the Knights as they were unable to bring it in.
Cam Marshall pinch ran for Ferrentino but that would mean just about nothing once
Braydon Dolbashian stepped to the plate. The first baseman blasted a two run walkoff homer to send the Warriors home victorious.
