Rapid Recap
For the past few weeks Merrimack has been mashing the baseball and it has been the bats that have carried them to wins. Today it would be the opposite as the Warriors would grab a win on the backs of their pitching. Campbell Cassidy started the game and the freshman lefty would put on a show. He would go 4.2 innings pitched giving up just one hit and allowing only five baserunners. No runs would come across while Cassidy manned the mound. It wouldn't be until the fifth inning when the Warriors bats awoke as Dawson Bryce drove in the first run of the game. Casey Hegan would come in to relieve Cassidy after a spotless four and change on the bump. Hegan would pick up right where the freshman left off as he would go 4.1 innings pitched with 5 strikeouts and only allowed three runners on base. He would be provided with some help on the other side as Matthew Chatelle bombed one out to left for a solo blast and he would later double into right to score one more. Hegan would finish it off in the ninth striking out the final two batters en route to the 4-0 shutout win.
