SMITHFIELD, RI – The Merrimack College Baseball team lost their penultimate non conference game of the season to Bryant.
Score: Merrimack 2, Bryant 12
Records: Merrimack (21-23), Bryant (28-14)
Rapid Recap
Merrimack was looking to extend their win streak to seven in a row and avoid a season sweep from Bryant.
Zach Broderick would start it out for the Warriors and escaped a bases loaded first inning unscathed.
Chris Goode provided a cushion with an RBI single that scored
Matthew Chatelle to go up 1-0. Broderick would come back out in the second and the bases became loaded again. This time he would not be as fortunate as Bryant scored twice to take the lead. Merrimack would bring in a carousel of pitchers with the Bulldogs scoring the next ten runs, 8 of which came in the third inning.
Chris Goode would homer in the 7th to cut it 12-2 but that's all there would be for a Merrimack offense that has been scorching hot as of late. Bryant would take down Merrimack 12-2 in seven innings.
