NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – The Merrimack College Baseball team took game two of the series against Central Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon. Both
Braydon Dolbashian and
Matthew Chatelle had two hits for the Warriors in the victory.

Tyghe Healy held the Blue Devils scoreless through four and two thirds innings while striking out three batters. Central Connecticut finally broke through with two outs in the bottom of the fifth after a double scored a run. In the top half of the sixth, Chatelle started the inning off with a single. He would later score on the throwing error by the catcher, tying the game at one. The Blue Devils would add a run in the bottom of the sixth to go back up by a run. Dolbashian drew a walk with one out in the top of the seventh. He would get to third after a wild pitch and error from the catcher.
Alex Haba would then also draw a walk to put two runners on. Chatelle then ripped a single to center, scoring one. With the bases loaded
Christian Gemelli drew a walk giving Merrimack its first lead of the game. All runners would advance on a wild pitch, scoring a run for the Warriors.
Hayden Bond was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, putting Merrimack up 5-2. Central Connecticut added two runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to one. Dolbashian singled to right to start the top of the eighth for the Warriors. Chatelle would later hit a sac fly to get him home, putting the Warriors back up two. The Blue Devils scored one in the eighth to put the advantage back at one.
Dawson Bryce singled to left with one down in the top of the ninth. After stealing second, Frankie Ferrntino singled, scoring Bryce.
Jack Collins would let two runners on in the bottom of the ninth, but would get out of it, earning him the save.
Notes and Numbers
- The save was Collins' second of the season.
- James Borsari earned his first win of the season.
- Merrimack finished the game with seven runs on eight hits.
