North Andover, M.A.-- Merrimack Softball picked up a split with the Sacred Heart Pioneers falling in game one, before winning the second game by a score of 5-3.

Game 1: In a tight contest in game one, Sacred Heart would score the opening run in the first inning and they would hold that lead until the sixth when
Madeline Arvai knocked in an infield RBI single. In extra innings the Pioneers would score two runs on a single to the outfield and would add more insurance runs with three run home run.

Game 2: Merrimack would start quick in game two with back to back doubles from
Courtney Lanpher and
Madison Cerpa to take a 1-0 lead.
Sydney Shinopulos would add their second run in the second reaching on a fielders choice. Sacred Heart would take the lead with a three run third inning but Merrimack would tie the game with a
Madeline Arvai RBI single in the bottom of the inning and the Warriors would extend the lead with a two run
Madison Cerpa single.

With the two run lead secured,
Cecelia Imbimbo would hold the Pioneers to three hits and no runs over the last 4 1/3's innings to collect her second win of the season.
