NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. --The Merrimack College women's soccer team announced their 2024 season schedule on Monday afternoon. The Warriors will look to continue their form from the previous season that included 10 wins, a seven-game unbeaten streak and conference championship as they will begin their inaugural season in the Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with 12 conference games that will begin in early September.
The Warriors open their season with four straight road games, as they open the season visiting the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on August 15, the Warriors were victorious in the last meeting the previous year winning by a score of 2-1. The Warriors will then head to Chestnut Hill to face off with Boston College on August 18. The Sunday after that Merrimack goes to Hanover to face the Big Green of Dartmouth, seeking to snap their four-game losing streak in the process and then to wrap up the four-game road start the Warriors travel to Orono to play the Maine Black Bears on August 29.
After a two day break the Warriors finally returned to Martone-Mejail Field on September 1 with a four game homestand of their own, starting with a home opener against the Bryant Bulldogs for the first time since 2022, a game that went to a 1-1 draw. On Wednesday September 4, Merrimack takes on the Wildcats of New Hampshire in their final non-conference game of the season as they look to continue their unbeaten streak in the process.
The Warriors will then play their first MAAC conference games, first against the Canisius Golden Eagles on Saturday September 7, and then the next week they wrap up the four-game home stretch against the Peacocks of Saint Peters. The Warriors head back on the road to face the Iona Gaels on September 21, before heading back to New York to face Niagara a week later on September 28.
The Warriors return home at the start of October for one home game before heading back on the road as they face Siena on October 2 in North Andover, before facing Marist and Fairfield away from home on October 5 and October 9. Merrimack will face Rider University at Martone-Mejail field on October 12 before facing off on the road with the defending MAAC champions Quinnipiac Bobcats on October 16. The Warriors will then play their final two home games of the season against Manhattan College on October 19 and fellow MAAC newcomers, Sacred Heart with this final regular season home game on October 23, the Warriors were 1-0 winners in their final game in the NEC the previous year. The Warriors will then finish the 2024 regular season in Emmitsburg, as they reignite their matchup with Mount St. Mary's on October 26.
The MAAC playoffs will begin on November 3, with the semifinals occurring on November 7 and the MAAC Championship being played on November 10.
