LOWELL, MASS. – The Merrimack College field hockey team suffered their first loss of the season to the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Isabelle Gardiner made 17 saves for the Warriors.

Eight minutes into the game, the Riverhawks scored the first goal going up 1-0. During the 21
st minute Alissia De Vries scored the Riverhawks second goal off a penalty corner putting them up 2-0.
Isabelle Gardiner made five saves for the Warriors to hold UMass Lowell to a 2-0 score. Mirthe Gans would add one more goal to give UMass Lowell a three point lead going into the half.
The Riverhawks registered three goals in the third quarter to go up six. The Warriors freshman
Emily Beichert was the first to respond by drilling a shot blocked by the Riverhawks defensemen. In the 52 minute
Kaitlyn Welsh ripped a shot from right field which was saved by the Riverhawks goalkeeper.
