North Andover, M.A.- The Merrimack College Warriors men's soccer team battled to the end but couldn't work their way past the Boston College Eagles, falling by a score of 1-0 in their home opener on a sun baked and humid day at Martone-Mejail Field.

- In the face of constant pressure in the opening half, the Warriors kept pace on defense, forcing difficult shots for Boston College while Nelton Semedo made five stops of his own including several at full stretch dive, keeping the game scoreless through the opening half.
- In the second half, the Eagles would not yield, as they would force a turnover at the halfway line, creating an odd man chance they would finish and take the lead. Merrimack would take their chances where they could and Semedo would make four more saves but the Warriors couldn't find an answer with their best chance coming late on as Adam Abdelaal's shot sailed just over the crossbar.

- Nelton Semedo made nine saves, a new career high for him.
UP NEXT: The Warriors head back on the road as they head to Smithfield, Rhode Island to face the Bryant University Bulldogs on Thursday night, kickoff is set for 7 PM.
