Women's Soccer Sees Off Bryant in Home Opener

North Andover, M.A.-   The Merrimack College Warriors women's soccer team was victorious in their home opener, as they scored two unanswered goals after falling behind to defeat the Bryant Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on a humid Sunday afternoon.

Rapid Recap:
Merrimack: 2, Bryant: 1
Merrimack (2-2-1), Bryant (2-4-0)

  • Bryant would get on the board first, scoring in the 34th minute off of a forced turnover, but the Warriors wouldn't trail for very long as just over a minute later after sustained pressure in their offensive area, Lauren Boughner would force a turnover of her own, take a touch and bend the shot into the top left-hand corner to tie the game at one.
  • In the second half, Merrimack would control play and take their goal early as Caleigh Christensen would win a header to Julia Ostermann who would pick out a fantastic pass to Jillian Golden who applied the cool finish to go ahead with the eventual game winning tally.
