WORCESTER, MA – The Merrimack College Field Hockey team fell on the road to Holy Cross for the homecoming of Head Coach Rachel Perry.

How It Happened
The Crusaders continuously put pressure on goalie
Isabelle Gardiner with four consecutive shots coming from their sophomore forward Maguire Sturgis. Shortly after Holy Cross would take two back-to-back penalty corners but Gardiner would make the saves to keep the Crusaders off the leaderboard. In the 18
th minute the Crusaders would capitalize off another penalty corner to score the first of the game. Seven minutes later they would add another one. Looking to close the gap three minutes before the half was freshman
Erin Cottam who fired a shot on goal that was saved.
The Crusaders came out strong in the second half adding their third goal of the night just two minutes into play. The Warriors put pressure on the Crusader's defense in the 37
th minute firing six shots but ultimately could not get past the Crusader's goalie. The Crusaders would add two more goals to extend their lead 5-0. Holy Cross wrapped up the fourth period with two more goals to win the game 7-0.
