How it Happened
The Warriors resumed conference play on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in North Andover with a great crowd in attendance. The 1984 inaugural team was celebrated before the game and they got to join the team for the coin toss. The first half was all even until Merrimack's Taylor Pedra broke the scoreless tie for her second goal of the season. The second half saw more fireworks from both teams. Merrimack's Ella Cormier would score her first goal of the season at 61:03 to make it a 2-0 Warriors lead. Adrianna Marinello would tack on a goal of her own nine minutes later and the Warriors would solidify their advantage. As time winded down, the Peacocks would respond by scoring two goals. Despite the late tallies from St. Peter's, the Warriors would hang on to defeat the Peacocks and secure their first ever win in MAAC conference play.Â
