Women's Hockey Falls to New Hampshire

North Andover, MA.- The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team fell to the New Hampshire Wildcats by a score of 5-3 on Friday night at Lawler Arena
 
Merrimack (6-15-1, 3-11-1): 3, New Hampshire (11-11-1, 7-9-0): 5

New Hampshire blitzed the Warriors for two goals in 31 seconds in the first period to take a two goal lead. Payten Evans cut the lead in half with a laser from the point on the powerplay, but the Wildcats would counter punch quickly, taking a 3-1 lead into the intermission.


Maria Lindberg got Merrimack back within one with another powerplay goal, but the Wildcats would once again score twice in quick succession to carry a three goal lead to the third.


Sophie McKinley gave the Warriors a lifeline with a goal midway through the third, and the Warriors nearly cut the lead to one with the net empty, but a goal line stop sealed the win for the Wildcats.
