NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball suffered a tight loss at home to Quinnipiac, snapping their undefeated record in North Andover.
Rose Caso had a career night scoring 24 points in the close loss.

The Warriors faced the MAAC's top team in Quinnipiac to start their week. Merrimack was able to handle the offensive onslaught of the Bobcats early on throwing haymakers of their own. After the first quarter, Merrimack trailed 25-16 even with
Rose Caso's stellar play as she would go on to have a career day. In the second, the Bobcats offense would not slow down, adding to their lead to go into halftime with a 12-point, 44-32 lead over the Warriors.
The start of the third saw Quinnipiac score the first two points before a ferocious takeover from Merrimack. The Warriors jumped on the Bobcats on both ends going on a 17 to 2 run to take the lead at 49-48. Hammel Court was injected with energy but a 13 to 2 run from Quinnipiac would quiet the crowd. The Warriors went into the final quarter down 61-51. In the fourth, Merrimack once again pounced on Quinnipiac going on a nine to nothing run to make it a one-point game midway through the frame. The two teams traded buckets down the stretch before the Bobcats pulled away at the final stages to steal the five-point win from the Warriors, 72-67.
