NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team secured a Thursday night win over Saint Peter's.

The first quarter started with a slow start with both teams looking to find their footing. After the first ten minutes it was a 14-10 game in favor of the Warriors. In the second frame
Lydia Melaschenko opened it up with a three pointer making it 17-10. The Warriors lead continued to balloon as they poured it on going up by 12 going into the half.
The second half became a tight contest with the Peacocks coming out on fire. Saint Peter's cut it to two points at 38-36 before a furious nine to nothing run from the Warriors to put the Peacocks threat to rest. Through three quarters, Merrimack led by eight, 47-39. In the fourth, a few Saint Peter's mini runs made it a closer game but the Warriors offense was clicking capitalizing on all their open opportunities. Merrimack pushed their lead to 15 points and ultimately ended up winning 64-49.
