North Andover, MA.- The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team were defeated by the Northeastern Huskies by a score of
4-1 on Saturday night at Lawler Arena.
Merrimack (6-15-3, 3-12-3): 1, Northeastern (16-8-1, 12-6-1): 4
Merrimack controlled play through the opening 20 minutes, but the Huskies would strike first,
at 5:31 of the first. The Warriors would stay after them, and were rewarded as
Alex Ferguson's initial shot was turned in on the rebound as
Emma Pfeffer fired in the tying goal
at 15:40 of the first.
In the second, Northeastern re-took the lead with a powerplay goal
at 13:38 of the second, and that would be the lone goal of the second.
Northeastern added an insurance marker
at 3:50 of the third period, and scored their fourth just past the halfway point.
Sophia Hausberger entered the game in relief and made six saves to close out the contest.
