New Haven, Conn. - The Merrimack field hockey team dropped their matchup on Sacred Heart University on Friday afternoon in New Haven.
Ciara Ryan and
Jade Shabo both had goals for the Warriors.

How It Happened
An early goal from the Pioneers gave them the advantage in the first few minutes of the game. A few minutes later Sacred Heart added another goal to go up by two. The Pioneers added three more goals in the second quarter to head into halftime up five. Ryan finally broke through for the Warriors in the 39
th minute. Shabo had the assist on the play. In the fourth, the roles became reversed, this time Shabo found the back of the net for Merrimack. The assist was awarded to Ryan.
Notes and Numbers
Both
Isabelle Gardiner and
Kayla Whitters split time in net. Gardiner finished the game with four saves. Whitters had two.
Madeline Harrington had a shot on goal for the Warriors.
Shabo finished with two shots.
Up Next
The Warriors get back to action on Sunday afternoon against Bryant University. Game time is set for noon in Rhode Island.
