Women’s Ice Hockey Falls to Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, MO — The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team fell by a score of 6-3 in the opening game of the road set against Lindenwood on Friday afternoon

Merrimack (1-3-1): 3, Lindenwood (1-6-0): 6

A high scoring opening period saw Lindenwood take the lead first, but the warriors would equalize with Missouri native Taylor Scott scoring her first Warriors goal in her home state. The homecoming goals would continue as Olivia Grabianowski, who previously played for Lindenwood found the net to give the Warriors the lead, but they wouldn't hold it into the intermission as the Lions scored twice more to take a 3-2 lead after the opening 20.

After a scoreless second period, Lindenwood registered two goals in the first eight minutes to of the third to take a 5-2 lead. Maria Lindberg got a goal back in the final seven minutes, but Lindenwood added one last goal on the powerplay in the final 2 minutes to close the contest.
