Schenectady, NY.— The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team closed their New York trip with a 2-2 tie and a 2-0 shootout win on Saturday afternoon against the Union Garnet Knights.
Merrimack (1-2-1): 2 (2), Union: 2 (0) (3-0-1)
After a scoreless first period where both goaltenders made 10 saves each and both teams couldn't cash in on a powerplay, Merrimack would jump ahead just before the midway point of game as Kathryn Karo would win the offensive zone draw and she would head to the net to turn in the rebound from McKenzie Cerrato.
Union would tie the score early in the third, but the Warriors would cash in on a powerplay late as after setting up the house in the offensive end, Maggie Kime would keep the puck in at the line, who throw it down low to Stina Sandberg who's shot would bank to Emma Pfeffer who would pot the go ahead goal, Union however would not go quietly, scoring in the final minute to send the game to overtime.
Adreanna Doucette would make four saves in the extra period, prompting a shootout.
In the shootout, Doucette would make three saves as Maria Lindberg and McKenzie Cerrato would score to give the Warriors the shootout victory.

· Kathyrn Karo and Emma Pfeffer scored for the Warriors.
· Maggie Kime, Stina Sandberg and McKenzie Cerrato had an assist each.
· Adreanna Doucette made 28 saves.
