Oralye Kiefer scored a career-high 19 points, but the Merrimack women's basketball team lost to Brown 70-60 on Tuesday night.
Kiefer, a grad student transfer from Northeastern, made 7-of-14 field goals and 3-of-6 3-pointers. She came one rebound shy of a double-double with nine rebounds.

Lydia Melaschenko scored 12 points, making four 3-pointers. Grad student
Molly Manion scored nine points, making 4-of-5 field goals and freshman
Joi Williams added seven points.
A layup by
Paloma Garcia pulled Merrimack to within six (66-60) with 2:17 left, but the Bears (7-4) were able to escape Lawler with the victory.

Kelly Morrone said. "We're obviously searching for some answers, but what I do like is there is obviously some good basketball here. Lots of little stuff to cleanup, but fixable things."
Merrimack opens MAAC conference play on Sunday, December 21st at 2 p.m. at Fairfield.
