Lewisburg, Pa. – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team dropped its season opener on Saturday afternoon to Bucknell University 23-7.

The Warriors opened the scoring less then a minute into the game with a goal from
John Savino. The Bison then added three straight goals to go up by two.
Daniel Bezrutchenko answered with his first goal of the season to put the Warriors down one. Two minutes later,
Brady Covey found the back of the net to tie the game at three. Bucknell scored two straight to go back up by two. Merrimack scored once again, this time it was
Casey Herod. The Bison scored three goals in the final two minutes of the period to go up by four. Bucknell opened with a goal to increase their lead by one.
Conor Noone added a goal to make it a four-score deficit. The Bison scored to go up five. Noone added his second of the afternoon to put the lead back down to four. Bucknell scored once more to head into halftime up by five. Bucknell was the only team to score in the third period. The Bison scored nine times to go up 14. Bucknell added three more goals in the fourth period.
Rob Tyra found the back of the net for Merrimack late in the fourth period.
