Men's Lacrosse Stumped by Providence at Home

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team lost at home to Providence College on Tuesday afternoon. Colin Kruger finished the game with four goals in the eventual loss.

Rapid Recap
Merrimack played their second straight home game after over a week off. The Friars of Providence we're welcomed into town and scored the first six tallies of the game. The Warriors halted the Friar scoring run with a goal from Colin Kruger with just 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter. To start the second, it was a defensive battle with just one goal coming from Providence early in the frame. At the 4:50 mark of the quarter, the scoring flood gates opened with a Friars score followed by a Conor Noone goal. Providence put up back to back scores before a second Noone goal to end the half.
 
The Friars controlled the early portion of the third quarter outscoring Merrimack 6-1 with the only goal in the time frame coming from Colin Kruger off of a Casey Herod feed. In the later stages of the period the Warriors added two more goals coming off of the sticks of Brady Covey and a third from Kruger. Merrimack trailed 16-6 going into the final 15 minutes of play. The first two goals of the fourth quarter did not come until nearly halfway through, both from Providence. The last tally of the game was from Merrimack and Colin Kruger who finished his spectacular day with four goals.
