Women's Lacrosse Falls to UNH Saturday

 
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's lacrosse team dropped its mid-day matchup to the University of New Hampshire Wildcats by a score of 14-10 on Saturday.

Rapid Recap
The Wildcats scored three goals in the first four minutes of play and would add two more to take an early 5-0 advantage. Ashlyn Campbell notched her first career goal in the 10th minute to kickstart a 4-0 run for the Warriors. Hailey Schnider then seized control, converting off a free position attempt. Kaitlin Roche continued the momentum, netting one between the pipes from Lindsay Atkinson. Allison Lamphere recovered a crucial rebound to score the Warriors fourth unanswered goal. UNH would knock one more down before the end of one. It was a defensive battle on both sides in the beginning of the second quarter. Hayley Kowalczyk forced a Wildcats turnover which Lamphere would turn into points for the Warriors. UNH responded with a goal of their own. Lamphere would score to complete the hat trick and cut the deficit to one. UNH buried three more goals to extend a 10-6 lead at the half.
 
In the third quarter, the Warriors opened scoring less than a minute into play as Allison Lamphere scored her fourth of the afternoon from Hailey Schnider. Both teams traded shots on net however, it was UNH who broke the scoring drought netting one to climb into double figures. The Wildcats scored twice more to close out third quarter action, 13-7. In the fourth quarter, UNH netted one, capitalizing off a Warriors turnover. Looking to keep things close, Kaitlin Roche netted two back-to-back goals, the second goal set up by a Sophia Ingenito ground ball breakaway. Lindsay Atkinson continued the Warrior's momentum, converting on a free position shot. Ultimately the Warriors couldn't make up the deficit, as the Wildcats won,  14-10.

The Warriors travel south to Clinton South Carolina for a matchup against Presbyterian College. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
