North Andover, MA.-- Merrimack Softball played to a split in their doubleheader this afternoon, taking a 2-1 eleven inning thriller in game one, before falling in game two, by a score of 12-2 in five innings.
Game 1: The Warriors scored the opening run of the ballgame, as
Madeline Arvai would ground into a fielders choice in the first inning scoring
Ellen Hubbard and
Anna Gedacht would render the Black Bears hitter helpless until the seventh allowing two hits and striking out six, but the Black Bears would scrounge the tying run on a sacrifice fly to send the game to extras.
In extras, the game belonged to
Emma Prahin, as she twirled three innings of scoreless, no hit ball, striking out five.
In the eleventh, the Warriors would finally push the winning run across the plate, as
Alex Miller would plate pinch runner
Brandi Neil to take the victory.
