North Andover, MA.-- Merrimack Softball dropped their final game of the weekend, falling 9-6 to the Maine Black Bears on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Diamond.
Maine scored the opening run in the first inning but the Warriors got it back in the bottom half, as
Thiana Brito scored on a fielders choice, and
Alex Miller would put Merrimack ahead with in infield hit, scoring
McKayla Kortes. Maine would tie the score in the second inning but Merrimack would get two more, with
Eva Issitt and
Ellen Hubbard both scoring on ground outs.
In the third, Maine would tie the game with two runs plated but the Warriors would take it back in the fourth on a
Gabby Kaduson single. The Black Bears, however would take the lead for good in the sixth, scoring four times to take an 8-5 lead. Kaduson would cut the lead back to two on a deep sacrifice fly to right, scoring
Ellen Hubbard, however Maine would score once more in the seventh and hold on from there to take the series.
