NORTH ANDOVER, MA- The Merrimack softball team was victorious in the series-deciding game with the Saint Peter's University Peacocks on Sunday, March 30th at the Warrior Softball Diamond at Martone-Mejail Field. They move to 4-2 in MAAC conference play.

How it Happened
The Warriors got rolling early with Anna Gedacht getting three outs in four at bats in the top of the first. Ellen Hubbard reached on a walk to start the bottom half of the frame. Abby Choquette led off the bottom of the 2nd with a double that got past the center fielder. Alex Miller bunted to move Abby Choquette over to third base. Madison Metcalf stepped up and hit a towering home run to left field to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead. The Warriors kept the offense going with Eva Issitt reaching on an infield hit and Ellen Hubbard drilling a single to left field. Anna Gedacht got right back in the circle in the top of the 4th and dealt a 1-2-3 inning. Madison Metcalf kept her hitting streak alive with a dribbler to the left side in the bottom half of the inning. Sofia Palyan then reached on a fielder's choice. Anna Gedacht fielded the first two outs of the top of the 5th by herself. Ellen Hubbard had a great at bat in the bottom of the 5th where she fouled off a slew of pitches and then sliced a double down the left field line. Thiana Brito followed that by singling and advancing to second. Gabby Kaduson grounded out but made Ellen Hubbard score for an RBI. Madeline Arvai came up and lined a ball to second base that drove in Thiana Brito to tie the game at 4. Sofia Palyan kept the offense rolling in the bottom of the 6th by ripping a single up the middle. Ellen Hubbard smoked a double up the middle to score the pinch runner Sam Russalesi. Thiana Brito put a charge into one and sent a double to right field that hit the bottom of the wall. It was very close to being a home run. Gabby Kaduson then lined a single to right field to move Thiana Brito over to third base. Emma Prahin came in and got the last six outs to secure the victory for the Warriors, 6-4.
