Rapid Recap
The Warriors we're coming off of their first win of the season and wanted to carry that thrilling overtime victory into a conference opening matchup with Manhattan. The Jaspers jumped out to a three score lead to begin the game until John Savino netted one for Merrimack. A goal from Colin Kruger and the second from Savino tied it at three early in the second quarter. The teams traded a pair of goals halfway through the period but Manhattan added two more to take a 6-4 lead going into the half.

The second half saw Merrimack score a trio of goals and take their first lead of the game at 7-6. The Jaspers ended the third and began the fourth the same way, with a pair of goals. The four unanswered scores gave Manhattan a 10-7 advantage with about 13 minutes left to go in the game. The Warriors responded rather quickly, netting back to back to back goals within a two-and-a-half-minute span to knot it back up at 10. The drama did not stop there at Duane Stadium as Manhattan scored two more times while Brian Bouwman added one late to cut the deficit in half 12-11. The Jaspers looked to bleed the clock away in the final seconds but a caused turnover by Reid Betner gave Merrimack one final chance. No shot was taken as the Warriors fell in heartbreaking fashion to open up MAAC play.
