LOWELL, MA- The Merrimack softball team lost both games in their doubleheader with the UMass Lowell RiverHawks in the Mill City on April 16th.

Game 1 Recap
Ellen Hubbard got the Warriors started in the top of the 1st with a double to left center. She then moved over to third via a Gabby Kaduson sac fly. Ellen Hubbard then stole home in the next at-bat to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. The wild pitch would help the Warriors again in the 2nd inning as Caity Lemay came in to score. In the fourth inning, Thiana Brito ignited the offense with a 3 RBI triple, bringing the Warriors run total to 5. Although the Warriors had a good day at the plate, the RiverHawks took game 1 by a score of 11-5.
Game 2 Recap
Emma Prahin started off game 2 with an RBI single that got the Warriors on the board. The blue and gold made some traffic on the bases in the 3rd inning as Gabby Kaduson and Madison Metcalf walked. Kiele Coleman led the effort for some last minute offense in the 7th inning with a single to center field. Ellen Hubbard then followed that with a single of her own. Despite this effort from the Warriors, they lost game 2 by a score of 5-1.

The Warriors return home on Friday, April 18th when they welcome the Quinnipiac University Bobcats to the Warrior Softball Diamond at Martone-Mejail Field.
