NORTH ANDOVER, MA- The Merrimack softball team won game 1 and lost game 2 against the Quinnipiac University Bobcats in a MAAC doubleheader on home turf on April 18th.

Game 1 Recap
Anna Gedacht was the starting pitcher and had very efficient innings in the circle. She got a plethora of quality outs and made a few nice plays by herself. Madeline Arvai and Caity Lemay stepped to the plate in the 2nd inning and got on base with singles to get the offense started. Ellen Hubbard then reached successfully in the 3rd inning with a rocket single to right field. Alex Miller got up in the 5th inning and ripped a single to left field. Ellen Hubbard then reached with an infield single to load the bases. Thiana Brito came up after her and hit a sac fly to bring in Alex Miller and tie the game at 1. The Warriors created more scoring opportunities as Ellen Hubbard stole second base shortly after. Gabby Kaduson then stepped up and lined a torpedo over the head of the QU right fielder to bring in 2 runs and make the score 3-1 Merrimack. Abby Choquette kept the party rolling in the bottom of the 6th by dunking in a single to the right side. Anna Gedacht capped off her awesome day in the circle by closing the door in the 7th inning and securing the victory for the Warriors in game 1 by a score of 3-1.

Game 2 Recap
Ellen Hubbard got the scoring going for the Warriors in the bottom of the 1st by doubling to left field and then stealing home. Madison Metcalf kept the entourage going with a base hit to center field. Alex Miller and Eva Issitt made great plays in the field to get key outs for the Warriors. Madeline Arvai stepped up in the bottom of the 3rd and ripped a 2 RBI double to left field to tie the game at 1. She continued her great day at the plate with another hit up the middle. It was a close game the whole way through. The Bobcats got out in front late, but the Warriors strung together a comeback attempt. Emma Prahin and Sarah Shurtleff shared the pitching duties and limited the Bobcat's pursuit. Abby Choquette got a single in the bottom of the 7th to try to lead this comeback attempt. Although the Warriors had good at-bats and made solid contact, they lost game 2 by a score of 5-3.
