Men's Lacrosse Loses Road Matchup at Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY. – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team lost their penultimate road conference game of the year dropping it to Marist.

Records: Merrimack (2-10, 1-5) | Marist (7-6, 5-2)
 
Rapid Recap
The first seven minutes of the game we're a defensive tilt between these two foes. The first goal of the game did not come until the 7:18 mark of the first quarter. Marist put up all four of the scores in the first period of play but just over a minute and a half into the second quarter Brian Bouwman broke the scoring drought, putting Merrimack on the board. The Red Foxes scored the next three before the Warriors added two to make it 7-3. The score at the half was 8-3 in favor of Marist.
 
The Red Foxes came out of the half tallying four of the first five goals with Brendan Harty being the lone Warrior to score in between. One more goal from Merrimack took it to the end of the third and led into a pair of goals from Conor Noone and Colin Kruger to start the fourth. Merrimack had crept their way back into the game at this point at 12-7. However, Marist would net the final three goals of the game as the Warriors dropped the road contest 15-7.
 
Notes and Numbers
  • Brian Bouwman finished with yet another multi goal game scoring two for the Warriors
  • Colin Kruger led Merrimack in points with a pair of assists and a goal
  • Matthew Cranney had a trio of caused turnovers and a ground ball
