How it Happened
Merrimack was coming off of a series win over Saint Peter's and aimed to carry momentum into the midweek battle with the Skyhawks. The Warriors came out on fire striking for four first inning runs. Matt DeShiro got it started with a two RBI single followed by a Cole Yennaco RBI base knock. Christian Scanlon drove in one more to finish off the top half of the first inning to go up 4-0. Stonehill's first chance at the plate resulted in a trio of runs to make it a one run game at 4-3. The Merrimack lead was short lived with Stonehill scoring a pair in the second inning before Matt DeShiro tied it in the third. The score was knotted up at five but it was all Skyhawks the rest of the way. The home team scored the final 13 runs of the game and ended the matchup in seven innings with a score of 18-5.
