Women's Basketball Adds Buratti as Assistant Coach

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Head women's basketball coach Kelly Morrone announced the addition of Claudio Buratti as an assistant coach for the Warriors ahead of the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
 
Buratti comes to Merrimack from Tufts University where he spent the last year as an assistant coach for the men's team. While a part of the Jumbos coaching staff, he was responsible for player development, recruiting and scouting needs on the way to a 22-6 season. He helped guide Tufts to a round of 32 NCAA tournament appearance in his lone season. Prior to his stint at Tufts, Buratti served as the assistant coach for Eastern Nazarene College. He was once again in charge of player development and recruiting during his one year with the Lions.
 
Buratti holds several years of coaching experience in Italy where he hails from. He spent 18 months as an assistant coach with Stella Azzurra Basketball Academy for their 19U, 17U and 15U teams. He also served as the head coach for the program's 16U team. While coaching in Italy he also was a part of the staff for Pallacanestro Smit Roma Centro from 2019 to 2021. He was the assistant coach for the 20U and 18U teams and was responsible for player development as well as video coordination.
 
Buratti carries with him high level playing experience as well as he was a member of John Cabot University in Rome, Italy.
