WORCESTER, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team suffered a loss in their matchup with the College of Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon.
Isabelle Gardiner made 21 saves for the Warriors.

The first quarter ended with a tie at zero as Gardiner flashed her skills. The senior goalie had five saves in the stanza. The Crusaders found the back of the net early on in the second to take a one-goal advantage. Holy Cross would score again in the 20
th minute to go up by two. A little over a minute later they added another goal to go up three. With under a minute to play in the half, Holy Cross would score a goal to head into halftime up by four.
Five minutes into the third quarter
Gianna Cioni had a shot on goal that was saved by the Holy Cross goalie. The Crusaders would add two goals in two minutes to go up six midway through the third. A goal with five minutes to go in the quarter would put Holy Cross up seven. Towards the end of the fourth quarter
Madeline Wagner had a shot that was saved.
Notes and Figures
Jade Shabo had one defensive save in the loss. She also added three shots, two on goal.
Cioni added two shots, including one on net.
The 21 saves for Gardiner ranks second best for her during her Merrimack career.
