Providence, R.I. – The Merrimack College field hockey team fell by a 7–0 score on Sunday afternoon against Providence College at Lennon Family Field.

Providence struck twice late in the opening quarter, scoring back-to-back goals in the final three minutes to grab an early advantage. The Warriors held the hosts off the board during the second quarter, with goalkeeper
Isabelle Gardiner making several key saves to keep the deficit at two heading into halftime. The Friars extended their lead in the third quarter, converting twice more to push the margin to 4–0. In the fourth, Providence added three additional goals, including one in the opening minutes of the frame and two more in the closing stretch, to secure the 7–0 final.
