JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Merrimack College men's basketball team had their undefeated conference streak snapped this Sunday against Saint Peter's in a 76-63 loss. Ernest Shelton led the Warriors with 18 points.
Shelton hit two shots from beyond the arc and hit all eight of his free throw opportunities. The Philly native had two rebounds, two steals and a block.
Freshman Kevair Kennedy scored 17 points in the loss and came down with seven boards. Kennedy had three assists and tied his career high in steals with five. He extended his double-digit point streak to 15 games.
Tye Dorset hit six shots from the field for 14 points. Dorset tied his season high in rebounds with five.
Todd Brogna and KC Ugwuakazi both shot over 50% and scored six points. Brogna had four rebounds while Ugwuakazi tallied six.
The Warriors head back home for a conference matchup against Quinnipiac next Saturday. Tip off from Lawler Arena is set for 3 p.m.
