WILMINGTON, NC - Jayden Hamilton went 2-for-3, and Garrett McGovern smashed a double, but it was UNC-Wilmington who came away with the win, 10-0.
Jayden Hamilton kicked off his sophomore season strongly, stripping two singles, one of which was a hit to shortstop that he beat out.Â
Freshman catcher Garrett McGovern hit the team's only double in the seventh inning after drawing the count full.
9-hole hitter Chris Goode got on base twice after singling in his second at bat and drawing a walk in his third.Â
Matt DeShiro and Christian Scanlon both singled in their season debuts.Â
Chris Kiesiner and Zach Broderick both tallied two strikeouts in an one inning pitched each.Â
The Warriors are back on the diamond this weekend for the Swig and Swine Classic in Charleston, South Carolina. The Warriors take on Ball State on Friday at 12pm, Seton Hall Saturday at 12pm, and again against Ball State on Sunday at 10am.
