McGovern Selected As MAAC Rookie of the Week After Impressive Start To Career

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Merrimack baseball catch Garrett McGovern has been named MAAC baseball Rookie of the Week after playing in his first four career games.

McGovern roped a double in his first career game against North Carolina-Wilmington. He caught two runners stealing in the game. 

During the first of three games at the Swig and Swine Classic, McGovern found the bases twice. He singled and drew a walk. 

Against Seton Hall on Saturday, McGovern tallied two more hits, and drove in a team high four RBI's. 

He finished his week batting .400, with four hits (1 double), four RBI's, and three runners caught stealing. 

McGovern and the Warriors head to Lewisburg this weekend to take on Bucknell. First pitch on Friday is set for 2 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday are both 12 p.m.
