Women's Hockey Faces Both New Hampshire And Providence This Weekend

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS-- Merrimack enters the final month of the regular season with two separate opponents facing New Hampshire tomorrow afternoon in Durham at 2 PM and at home against Providence on Saturday night as the team holds their senior day ceremonies which will take place post game.

On Saturday, Merrimack celebrates their senior class of 2026 as they will honor #9 Kathryn Karo, #13 Olivia Grabianowski, #16 Madison Micals, #18 Maddie Crowley-Cahill and #92 Avery Anderson. As a group these players have taken the ice for 128 games at Merrimack and over 575 games as a collective in their careers.

Merrimack enters the weekend as the conference leader in blocked shots with 427, averaging 15.25 blocks a game. Maggie Kime sits in third place in the conference with 60 in total. Six players in total have 30 blocks or more this season.

Merrimack alum Dominika Laskova began her 2nd Olympic appearance on Thursday afternoon, as she took the ice against Team USA with Czechia. This is Laskova's seventh appearance in an international tournament for her nation. In her previous appearance in the Olympic games, Laskova played in all five contests for the Czech's as reached the semifinals through the group stages as they placed seventh in the tournament.

Three Warriors players enter this weekend's game with either ten goals or ten assists as Emma Pfeffer is the team's leading goal scorer with 10, which is also her first ever double digit goal season and Avery Anderson and Hailey Eikos have a team leading 10 assists. 

New Hampshire took both games so far this season by scores of 8-2 and 5-2, Merrimack is looking for their first win in the series since the 3-1 postseason win last year.

Merrimack has pushed Providence in both meetings they've had this season, but the Friars have taken both games, by scores of 3-2 with one of those wins happening in overtime. McKenzie Cerrato, Cameron Crawford and Jordan Nishi all had two points each on Dec. 5 while Avery Anderson and Stina Sandberg scored in the second meeting with Hailey Eikos, Emma Pfeffer and Maggie Kime had assists. Adreanna Doucette made 37 saves in her start and Lauen Lyons made 42 and had one assist in her appearance.
