West Point, NY. – Merrimack Baseball homered twice in their first of two games against Army West Point on Tuesday afternoon.
The Warriors got off the right foot to begin the game as
Greg Cristino had the 3-0 green light and pounded a home run over the left field wall.
After Army tied the score in the third, Merrimack got back ahead in the fourth after a
Samuel Sherman RBI and a
Jack DePalma scored two more a single through the left side.
Brett McKinnon followed that up in the fifth, hitting his first Merrimack home run.
Cristino knocked home his third RBI of the day in the seventh, and they would add two more in the eighth, with a
Matt DeShiro RBI single and
Joey Frammartino just missing a home run on sac fly.
In the bottom half of the eighth, Army would tie and then take the lead back to back home runs including a grand slam to take the 10-9 win.
The Warriors look for the split against Army West Point tomorrow at 3:30.
