NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Merrimack College baseball team takes on Iona this weekend for their second conference series of the year.
The Warriors have won three of their last five games, including a series win over Niagara last weekend.Â
Greg Cristino leads the team in home runs with two after crushing one to left field in game one against Army. Cristino drove in three runs to bring his season total up to a team leading 13.Â
Joey Frammartino gave the Warriors a lead that they wouldn't give up in a dominating win over the Black Knights on Wednesday. Frammartino drove his batting average up to .342 in the win, and is third in the MAAC in on-base-percentage at .536.Â
Pitcher Colby Barker improved his record to a perfect 3-0 last weekend against Niagara. His 0.71 ERA is the second best in the MAAC while his opponent ERA is the fourth best at .186. He is only one of two pitchers in the conference to have three or more wins. In three appearances he has only allowed two runs.Â
Third baseman Jayden Hamilton leads the Warriors with a .360 batting average. His 18 hits come with two doubles, and eight RBI's.Â
Freshman Garrett McGovern continued his strong season with a two hit day on Wednesday against Army. McGovern has the second best batting average on the team at .355 and has 11 hits, three doubles, and eight RBI's.Â
Preseason All-MAAC team selection Jack Andrews has driven in ten RBI's and swiped a team high six bases.Â
First pitch on Friday is at 3 p.m. while Saturday is at 1 p.m. and Sunday is at 12 p.m. noon.Â
