NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- The season isn't over for the Merrimack women's basketball team.
Kelly Morrone and the Warriors have been invited to the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) as a recipient of an at-large bid. Details of the first-round matchup, including Merrimack's opponent, have not yet to be announced. The full bracket is slated to be released Monday, according to the WNIT.
Merrimack (19-12, 15-5 in MAAC) finished third in the MAAC during the regular season before reaching the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Warriors suffered a loss to Fairfield in the semifinals. The Stags went on to win the tournament and earned a No. 11 seed in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
