Hamden, CT.-- Merrimack Softball had 20 combined hits in their conference doubleheader with the Quinnipiac University Bobcats on Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, Merrimack overturned a two run deficit, with Dejah Rodeau scoring on a fielders choice in the fifth and in the seventh,
Caity Lemay would double, then pinch runner
Sam Ryan would score two batters later on a
Madison Metcalf one out single.
The Bobcats, however would walkoff game one in the eighth.
In game two,
Madeline Arvai would score the game's first run, and
Megan Miller would continue to hit the ball well, with a three run double, scoring Arvai,
Sam Ryan and
Anna Mitrou.
Merrimack would add three more runs through hits from
Megan Miller,
Caity Lemay, and
Sam Russalesi to take a 7-3 lead, but Quinnipiac would score seven runs to take the doubleheader.
Five Warriors had multi hit games in game two, as
Anna Mitrou had three, and
Caity Lemay,
Madeline Arvai,
Megan Miller and
Sam Russalesi had two hits each.
Sam Russalesi also hit a milestone as she played in her 100th game this afternoon.
