NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack College men's volleyball team took down the Pioneers of Sacred Heart this Saturday afternoon 3-2, thanks to big performances from Max Tkachev and Dallas Birkenbeuel.
"These four seniors have battled through a lot to be here" said head coach Hayden West-Mather. "I think today represented their resilience to a T. We are excited to beat an EIVA team after facing so many this season. Looking forward to an exciting march."
Tkachev tallied his second straight double-double, this time racking up a team leading 16 kills and 12 digs.
Birkenbeuel followed close behind with 13 kills and seven digs of his own.
Blake Taschner was one of three Warriors to have 12 digs on the day. He also had six kills and two block assists.
Nick Tidik paced the Warriors in the blocks department totaling four.
Senior Kyle Wagner tallied 12 digs in the win.
The Warriors look to complete the season sweep against the Pioneers next weekend where they will take on the team at 1 p.m. from Fairfield.
