LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team did its part with a 14-6 win over Siena on Wednesday, and with other results going its way, clinched the program's first-ever MAAC Tournament appearance.
Merrimack handed top-seeded Siena its first loss in conference play this season. With the victory, as well as a Sacred Heart win and Quinnipiac loss, the Warriors earned the right to host No. 5 Quinnipiac at Duane Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors beat the Saints following a run of six unanswered goals, scoring 10 of the game's final 12 goals.
Attacker
Colin Kruger found the net six times while
Jack Salva,
Finn Dougherty and
Casey Herod each scored twice for the Warriors.
Jaden Galfano matched a season-high 13 saves in the win.
The opening draw in Sunday's playoff game between Merrimack and Quinnipiac is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
