EMMITSBURG, MD. -- The Merrimack College baseball team combined to score 16 runs on 17 hits in a one-sided contest against Mount St. Mary's at E.T. Straw Family Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
With the 16-6 victory, the Warriors swept the Mountaineers in the three-game series.
Greg Cristino (4-for-6, five RBIs, two runs),
Matt DeShiro (3-for-5, three RBIs, three runs),
Chris Goode (3-for-4, three runs),
Joey Frammartino (2-for-3, three RBIs, three runs) and
Garrett McGovern (2-for-5, RBI) and all finished with multiple hits for the Warriors. Merrimack scored 12 runs in its win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, as well.
Cristino got the scoring started with a two-run home run in the first inning. DeShiro then earned an RBI on a second-inning walk during a two-run frame. Frammartino hit a two-run home run, which helped the Warriors take a 7-2 lead in the top of the fourth.
Merrimack scored six runs on four hits and three walks in the fifth inning. The rally included a two-run double by
Tyler DeCrescenzo and RBI singles by Frammartino and Cristino. Jayden Hamlilton and
Garrett McGovern each recorded RBIs while reaching base on a fielder's choice.
DeShiro provided some insurance when he belted a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning.
The Warriors host Bryant at Greater Lawrence Tech on Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET.
