NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.— Mirko Nufi has been promoted to Merrimack men's soccer associate head coach, as announced by Warriors head coach Tony Martone on Monday morning.
 Nufi is set to enter his fifth year as a member of the staff in 2026.
"Mirko has been instrumental in helping the program be highly competitive at the Division IÂ level," Martone said. "He has and continues to demonstrate passion, knowledge and maturity and in his new role, he will continue to make substantial contributions to the success of our program."Â Â
Nufi spent four seasons as a member of the Merrimack men's soccer team (2018-21), including time spent as a team captain. He received several accolades during his tenure, being named Northeast Conference (NEC) Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 when he helped the Warriors to a 11-3-2 record and a perfect 9-0-0 mark in the Northeast Conference. He also earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American honors, was selected to the Scholar All-Region First Team, and the All-Northeast Region First Team. In 2021, Nufi was named an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year.Â
"I'm incredibly honored to be named Associate Head Coach at Merrimack College, a place that has meant so much to me as both a student-athlete and now a coach," Nufi said. "I want to thank Coach Tony Martone for his trust, mentorship, and belief in me, as well as the entire Merrimack community for its continued support. I'm excited for the journey ahead and look forward to helping our program continue to grow. Go Warriors!"
As a member of the Merrimack coaching staff, Nufi has helped the Warriors to two playoff appearances, as well as the transition from the NEC to the Metro Conference.
